Toyota is to display a family-oriented concept vehicle at the 2012 Tokyo Toy Show in order to promote cars to a new generation of potential drivers. It will be displayed in two configurations – Camatte Sora – the turquoise car – Camatte Daichi – the military-looking beige machine.
Suzuki will embrace the hot-hatch craze by adding a more street-worthy version of its SX4 compact car. Also, the entire SX4 lineup will get a more powerful engine and upgraded transmissions. The basics: The key to boosting the street image of the SX4 SportBack will be increased power from the redesigned 2.0-liter engine--up 7 hp to 150 hp.
Continuing the "Imported from Detroit" campaign that launched with Eminem's epic Super Bowl ad, Chrysler has partnered with fashion designer and native Detroiter John Varvatos for the next installment in the star-studded series of commercials. With Iggy Pop playing in the background, the spot shows Varvatos driving a Chrysler 300 as the voiceover says that the Motor City's "perfect combination of rock and roll and heavy industry" made it the designer's muse. Chrysler also is running an ad with Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
